White vinyl fabric – avoid these traps!

April 21, 2015 by Jean-Marc Chateigner Leave a Comment

Indeed, most customers are going to fall into these traps when selecting the right white vinyl fabric for them, and this is what I’m going to talk about in this post.

Fortunately for you, there aren’t many problems with this material, it’s very affordable and it’s also extremely versatile in use, in other words, you can use it in so many applications and in so many purposes, but most often, people, and especially artisans, are going to use white vinyl fabric for making upholstery, this means that they are going to fall into the traps I’m going to talk about in this post.

To best clean faux leahter upholstery, only use DC22 Upholstery Cleaner. Click here to try it!

The first one is related to the price.

If you are trying to buy white vinyl fabric, always have in mind that it doesn’t cost a lot!

Indeed, when you are dealing with a bulk item, it’s not going to be very expensive, and if you find a fabric that costs more than nine dollars a yard, then you are definitely looking at a very expensive product.

To clean faux leather perfectly, use saddle soap! Click here to try it!

I buy white vinyl fabrics all the time, and I have never exceeded five dollars a yard for the medium quality ones, however, there are some great qualities which may even cost beyond nine dollars, but from my experience, they aren’t very useful and “sophisticated”, they do not present a huge advantage than the most affordable ones.

The second thing you need to be careful about is the color.

And here, it’s up to you, if you would like a cheap white vinyl fabric, then, you can be a little tolerant when it comes to the color because the fabric can be made out of recycled materials, and even out of low quality chemical dyes, this means that you are not going to get pure white, however, if you are looking for pure white vinyl, you need to pay a little extra money because it costs more than the other kinds.

The third thing is related to the elasticity.

I have to tell you the truth; real leather is much better than faux leather for one simple thing: it’s highly elastic!

This means that it will not tear easily and with time, it’s not going to crack quickly.

However, there is a solution to this, it’s getting medium thickness white vinyl fabric that has synthetic or natural fibers inside, these are going to make it much more resistant and durable as well.

These are the traps you need to avoid when selecting white vinyl fabric, if you have a question, an inquiry or a comment, please, post it in the form below.
