I’m writing this post today to tell you about PVC vinyl fabric. A user sent me an e-mail some weeks ago asking me about this product and whether it was faux leather or not.
And no, PVC vinyl fabric is not faux leather, no need to argue about this point, but in most places and stores, if you find some novice clerks, they may not know what you are talking about, that’s why I recommend that you know the difference between the two.
For all your faux leather maintenance, I highly recommend saddle soap. Click here to get it!
Is there a real difference between PVC and faux leather fabrics?
Absolutely, the two terms mean something completely different, PVC (Polyvinyl chloride) fabric is quite similar to faux leather, but it’s very different in texture and elasticity, you can think of PVC as a kind of plastic fabric, it can have similar roles as faux leather, but from my experience, it’s not as robust and as durable as faux leather and thus, it’s not widely used in clothing and upholstery items, nevertheless, it’s used as cover for products and other items, and it can even be used as a fabric for clothing purposes, but this is rare.
This is all you need to understand and know about PVC vinyl fabric, it’s not the same thing as faux leather.
