When my son was very young, he would always steal color markers from his older sister and play with them, needless to tell you that our home upholstery got really messed up during these years, and I remember sometimes I would come home and find that most of our couches, sofas and even windows have been tagged with his “creative art” using permanent markers!
At first, I was very ignorant of how to get rid of permanent marker from my upholstery, but after some few tries and experiences, I came up with an amazing solution, this is what I’m going to share with you here, I’m going to show you the best way to clean permanent marker from your faux leather upholstery easily and quickly.
The first way is to use a good pencil rubber.
Pencil rubbers are amazing at cleaning permanent markers because they are simply going to absorb the ink efficiently, after all they were manufactured and designed to absorb ink.
There aren’t many techniques to doing this; you just need to rub the permanent marker marks thoroughly until they are gone.
However, you must be careful because sometimes the ink would have been absorbed deeply by the faux leather fabric, which is going to make removing it very difficult, so if you notice that using a pencil rubber is not efficient, then stop!
The second way to clean permanent marker is to use a professional upholstery cleaner solution.
By this I mean that you should buy upholstery cleaner, a product, the one I like using and that gave me the most positive results is called DC22 Upholstery Cleaner.
It is very affordable and only costs nine dollars, it is also available in most supermarkets and it is simply amazing.
Here is how to apply it:
The first step is to try to take with dry cloths as much permanent marker ink as possible from your upholstery, then take a clean cloth and apply some upholstery cleaner on it, then simply rub using a circular motion until the marker has disappeared.
The final solution is to use Gleen.
I really enjoy using Gleen’s cleaning cloths on my upholstery, it does not only make them look good, but it is also going to get rid of dirt and especially dust very easily.
These are the best ways to get rid and to clean permanent marker ink from your faux leather upholstery.
