Faux leather vest – how to choose, clean and maintain in perfect condition

April 22, 2015 by Jean-Marc Chateigner Leave a Comment

In this quick guide, I will try to explain to you the fundamentals of keeping your faux leather vest in perfect condition for as long as possible, this will involve the right cleaning and maintenance procedures that you need to take in order to maintain and keep it looking as new for as long as possible.

The first thing we need to talk about is what you need to look for when choosing a faux leather vest.

For all your faux leather maintenance, I highly recommend saddle soap. Click here to get it!

In order to pick the right faux leather vest for you, you need to have these criteria in mind all the time:

The first one is related to the faux leather toughness.

And here, I don’t mean thickness, what I’m talking about is cotton backing, in other words, whether it has a cotton lining on the back or not, this is very important because if it doesn’t, it will mean that the faux leather fabric is not going to last very long and it’s going to start cracking and peeling within just a few months of use.

Then, to choose the perfect faux leather vest for you, you have to always rely on name brands which offer good quality products.

Unfortunately, most people, when they would like to buy faux leather objects, are going to think that they should be cheap and inexpensive! But this is completely false, faux leather can sometimes be as durable and as flexible as really leather, so, it’s not going to be inexpensive if you are dealing with a good quality fabric.

The second thing you must look for is the number of pieces.

If your faux leather vest is made out of many pieces of fabric, then it’s definitely a low-quality one, in other words, it’s made out of shoots and recycled materials, which is not very stylish and durable if you ask me.

Let’s talk now about how to clean your faux leather vest.

First, you must understand that each vest and each product is completely different, some faux leather vests can be washed in a washing machine, while others can’t, so the only thing I’m going to tell you here is to look for the cleaning instructions, and if you happen to have a stain in it, you can just take a piece of dry cloth with some warm water and clean it, it’s this easy to clean faux leather.

Let’s talk now about how to maintain it in perfect shape and condition.

If you don’t have a good faux leather conditioner at home, I highly recommend that you invest in one, it’s fantastic for keeping your faux leather vest looking amazing, and it doesn’t cost a lot, and the wonderful thing is that it will last you for ages.

Remember to use the following conditioner to maintain your faux leather objects cracks free: Click here!

These are definitely the most important things you need to understand and know about your faux leather vest, and trust me, once you start cleaning it properly and taking good care of it using a good leather conditioner, it will last you for a very long time and the faux leather fabric is never going to crack or start peeling.
