Faux leather sofa bed – how to maintain and clean

Most people are going to consider a faux leather sofa bed as not a high priority piece of furniture when it comes to maintenance and cleaning, because it may have cost them an affordable price, and so, they think that it’s durable and it doesn’t need too much care from their part!

It’s not the case, you need to care for your faux leather sofa bad, because, as with most upholstery items that are made with faux leather, they are very fragile and are going to suffer damages and hurts very quickly, and soon, if you don’t take good care of it, it will start cracking and even peeling, which is terrible, my advice is to apply the tips I’m going to share with you in this post and keep your faux leather sofa bed clean and well cared for, it will last you for ages, and who knows, with time, you may even pass it to your son or daughter, which is what I did.

The first thing you need to understand is how to clean your faux leather sofa bed.

Because you are dealing with both a sofa and a bed at the same time, you need to be very careful about what you are going to do.

When you use it as a bed, the first thing you need to do when you are thinking about cleaning it, the next morning, for example, is to use a dry sponge and get rid of as much dirt as possible, especially dust, then, when it’s clean, take some warm water and wipe gently, keep it unfolded in order to dry excess water and then apply a leather conditioner gently.

This will keep your faux leather sofa bed looking amazing over the years.

Now, let’s talk about some products you need to avoid as much as possible.

These chemicals and products are extremely dangerous and devastating to your faux leather sofa bed, and they are, first of all, alcohol, then bleach and other different shampoos and cleaning products.

In fact, the only cleaning product you should use with your faux leather sofa bed is a leather cleaner and conditioner, other than that, don’t use anything else, except warm water, and in small amounts.
