Faux leather skirts – how to clean and keep them looking good

August 8, 2015 by Jean-Marc Chateigner Leave a Comment

It’s very strange to see how many items and products can be made out of faux leather fabrics, especially when it comes to fashion.

In this post, I would like to talk about faux leather skirts, how to clean them and how to keep them looking good.

For all your faux leather maintenance, I highly recommend saddle soap. Click here to get it!

My wife has the most interesting collection of faux leather skirts, they are not very short, however, they are extremely sexy and I like them a lot, especially on her because she looks just gorgeous.

However, at first, we did not know how to clean or even how to keep her first faux leather skirt looking good, and no matter what we did, it always looks terrible, that’s why I’ve devoted many hours looking for the proper way to maintain and clean her faux leather skirts.

And this is why I’m going to share with you in this post my favorite techniques, in fact, the easiest ones you can use, in order to clean and maintain a faux leather skirt looking amazing.

The first thing you need to understand is that if you are dealing with a very cheap quality faux leather skirt, no matter what you are going to use, it will always look terrible!

That’s why I highly advise you to only invest in durable and high-quality faux leather skirts, after all, they are not very expensive, and the wonderful thing is that they are going to last you a very long time.

To prevent faux leather from peeling and cracking, I highly advice you to use a good conditioner. Click here to try it!

The second thing I highly advise you to do is whenever you want to buy a faux leather skirt, is to get one bigger than your size, at least two sizes.

This is due to the fact that faux leather is a bit rigid and when you keep stretching it, it will lose its strength and durability, apart from this, it doesn’t matter what color or what shape you choose your faux leather skirt.

Then, let’s talk now about how to clean a faux leather skirt.

It’s very easy, whenever you have a stain, always use a dry piece of cloth, and some few drops of warm water, just wipe the surface gently until the stain has gotten.

And when it comes to cleaning in the machine, never use hot water, the colder, the better, and please, don’t rely on your instincts, read the label carefully and look for the perfect conditions in order to clean your faux leather skirt in the machine.

And one more thing, keep it away from heat, and remember, you are dealing with faux leather, which is a derivative of plastic, and as such, it’s highly fragile to heat and susceptible to damages, so, the less heat it’s exposed to, the more it’s going to look amazing and keep in its original shape.

Then, let’s talk about maintenance.

For all your leather and faux leather items, I highly recommend Saddle soap. Click here to try it!

To maintain your faux leather skirt looking amazing, you just need to apply some few tablespoons of a good faux leather conditioner to it; it will look good and please, don’t do this every day, once every six months is more than enough.
