Faux leather sectional sofa with chaise – Their worst enemies!

July 27, 2015 by Jean-Marc Chateigner Leave a Comment

Today, I’m going to share with you the worst enemies of a faux leather sectional sofa with chaise, I know that this title is going to sound very alarming and somehow very frightening, but the enemies I’m going to talk about in this post are extremely dangerous for the well-being of your sofa and chaise as well!

I don’t want to scare you, but I want you to become very aware of the enemies surrounding your faux leather sectional, and I know that this is going to help you save a lot of money and stay away all a lot of hassles as well.

The first enemy of your faux leather sectional sofa with chaise are animals!

If you have animals at home, especially cats, you need to be extremely careful about your sectional sofa, it’s because cats love to take good care of their nails, even worse, they love to do so at the expense of our furniture!

And from my experience, no matter what you do, your cat is always going to go ahead and help itself!

So, what can you do?

Unfortunately, the only thing you can do is to buy a good cover for your faux leather sectional sofa, other than this, you can’t protect it more.

I have to tell you about this one because from my experience, our cat always loves to “sharpen” its nails on our sofa, and I once found it doing so in a very violent manner, it left its marks and the bottom and I had to repair it for over a week.

To clean faux leather perfectly, use saddle soap! Click here to try it!

And let me tell you that there is something special about your sofa that attracts cats to it: it’s sitting in the middle of the room and your cat will want to mark its territory, then, it’s going to choose it because it’s the most obvious object and the most visible one in the room as well, as mentioned before, you can do nothing about this, and the only thing you can do is to protect it with a good cover.

The second enemy of a faux leather sectional sofa with chaise are people’s feet.

If your faux leather sectional sofa with chaise is exposed in the middle of the room or near a door, then, most people are going to hit their feet on it, and let me tell you that faux leather is very weak when it comes to shoes, especially dirty ones!

My advice is to care for the bottom of your faux leather sectional sofa as much as possible.

How do you care for this area?

Well, you should apply a good leather conditioner from time to time, it’s the only advice I can give you.

Are these all the enemies you should be careful about?

Of course not, now, let’s talk about the worst enemy of them all!

Alcohol and bleach!

If you would like to enjoy your drinks on your sofa, there is no one who can stop you, but please, always have in mind that alcohol is very damaging when it comes to faux leather fabrics, it’s going to change their molecular structure and it’s also going to make them very weak, and extremely vulnerable to peeling and cracking as well.

My advice is to avoid using bleach and other cleaning chemicals that contain either alcohol or any other aggressive chemicals and compounds, this is by far one of the best things you can do in order to protect your faux leather sectional sofa with chaise.
