Faux leather recliner – how to clean and maintain

January 31, 2015 by Jean-Marc Chateigner Leave a Comment

A faux leather recliner is both very comforting and also extremely appealing, especially if you enjoy sitting on it and relax while watching TV or reading, which is what I do every single evening.

I just can’t wait to be with my family and enjoy my faux leather recliner, and my youngest son thinks the same as well, whenever he is done with his homework, his next priority is to “fight” with his younger sister and take my place until I’m home!

You have to use a good conditioner to prevent your faux leather objects from cracking and losing their texture. Click HERE now to try the best!

However, I must tell you that my faux leather recliner is not new, I got it from a flea market three years ago and it looked horrible and extremely damaged at first, however, with time and my “expertise”, after all, I have been working with faux leather for the last twenty-five years, I was able to clean it and keep it in good shape, I restored it to perfection.

And this is why I’m going to give you the best advice in order to gain and maintain your faux leather recliner in perfect condition and to keep it great looking for as much as possible.

The first thing you need to understand about your faux leather recliner is that it’s very fragile.

Because it’s made out of faux leather, your recliner will demand a lot of attention and a lot of care, especially when it comes to the right products and the right chemicals to use with it.

I’ve seen many people using hot water, cold water, alcoholic beverages, and even floor cleaners in order to clean their faux leather recliners, needless to tell you that this is very dangerous for faux leather fabrics and it’s going to deteriorate it and make it crack and peel very quickly.

From my experience, the best way to clean a faux leather recliner is to use the proper products, and to this day, I only trust one product, it comes from a brand called: Blue Magic, and their amazing product for cleaning faux leather is called: Blue Magic 800 Leather & Vinyl Cleaner, it’s very affordable, it costs less than six dollars!

What if you don’t have Blue Magic 800!?

Then, don’t worry, the next thing you can do is to use a dry piece of cloth and a few drops of warm water, just wipe gently and soon, dirt and other particles are going to vanish!

Let’s talk now about how to maintain your faux leather recliner in perfect condition.

Well, to do so, you can either use saddle soap, which is a bit demanding and difficult to apply, or use a good faux leather conditioner, which is what I personally use.

And believe me when I tell you that if you invest in a good faux leather conditioner, it will be the best thing for your faux leather recliner because it will keep it in great shape and it will always stay shiny looking, durable and crack and peel free.
