Faux leather ottoman coffee table – how to clean!

July 31, 2015 by Jean-Marc Chateigner Leave a Comment

I feel very proud to have a wonderful and very beautiful faux leather ottoman coffee table at home, and whenever I have friends, I would always serve my favorite beverage, English tea, while we are sitting around it and enjoying a good discussion.

However, the thing you are always going to suffer from when you use faux leather ottoman coffee tables are stains, and no matter how careful you are, you will sometimes have to face them, whether be it coffee, tea or even alcohol!

For all your faux leather maintenance, I highly recommend saddle soap. Click here to get it!

So, how to clean a faux leather ottoman coffee table?

Just follow the advice I’m going to give you in this post.

The first technique is to use warm water.

And this is by far one of the best ones you can apply, and I highly recommend that you become very active when you are dealing with stains, especially on faux leather furniture pieces, it’s because faux leather tend to absorb stains much more quickly, especially if you are dealing with alcohol and other beverages that may be hot or even sugary.

These beverages tend to contain aggressive chemicals that are going to penetrate inside the faux leather fabric and they will simply deteriorate its texture and make it less resistant and durable.

And the worst thing about a faux leather ottoman coffee table is that you cannot change it entirely because you always have to change other items with it!

Then, the best thing you can do is to be reactive when it comes to stains, for example, last Sunday, I was enjoying tea with my daughter, she made some for me and we sat down and enjoyed it together with biscuits, when all of a sudden, I spilled some on our faux leather ottoman coffee table!

Yes, I am the kid in the family! I immediately went to the kitchen, brought a dry cloth and I dumped it in some warm water, I started wiping gently and then, I wiped with another dry cloth, and the stain was gone almost immediately.

The second thing to do if you would like to clean your faux leather ottoman coffee table very quickly is to use a faux leather cleaning product.

For all your leather and faux leather items, I highly recommend Saddle soap. Click here to try it!

Although I’m not into shortcuts and relying a lot on chemicals, because most of the time, you just don’t have them at home, I highly recommend that you invest in a good faux leather cleaner, especially if you have many faux leather items at home, like myself, that’s why I always have a product called Blue Magic, it’s very efficient and extremely powerful against stains, however, only use this one when you have difficult problems like wine, coffee, or alcohol, however, when it comes to small ones, just use warm water and a dry cloth.
