Faux leather corsets – how to keep them looking amazing and sexy

March 29, 2015 by Jean-Marc Chateigner Leave a Comment

I’m not going to lie to you, taking good care of a faux leather corset can seem like an easy task, but it’s not, because most manufacturers are going to use high quality faux leather fabrics, especially when it comes to high-end products, you need to use very precise techniques in order to get rid of stains, smells, and dust easily.

I’ve been working with faux leather fabrics for the last twenty-five years of my life, and I’ve seen with my own eyes how this fabric evolved and how it became so popular and so used over the years, however, the thing I keep noticing all the time is that people are not aware of how to clean it and how to maintain it in perfect condition, and this is what I’m going to talk to you about today, how to clean and make your faux leather corset look amazing, even after many years of use.

You have to use a good conditioner to prevent your faux leather objects from cracking and losing their texture. Click HERE now to try the best!

The first technique is to use the right products.

I’ve been cleaning faux leather fabrics using traditional ingredients such as vinegar and warm water for many years, and although these are very efficient, I’ve found a better one, it’s much more affordable because only a few drops are more than enough to clean it, and more importantly, it’s going to also nourish the faux leather fabric which is going to get rid of internal smells and stains very easily.

The best cleaning product I’ve found so far is by a brand called Blue Magic, and it’s the one I use in my shop.

If you don’t want to use this product, you can also use vinegar, white vinegar that is, it’s amazing because it’s going to get rid of smells and stains almost immediately, but you have to be careful, don’t use a lot, just a few drops, they are more than enough to get rid of most problems in your faux leather corset.

Just apply some few drops to a dry cloth and wipe very gently, be careful, use a soft texture cloth, if you use a harsh one, it’s going to scratch the surface of your faux leather corset which is not very sexy if you ask me!

When you are done cleaning, the next thing to do is to dry it, whether you are using the product I’ve mentioned some few lines ago or white vinegar or even warm water, you need to dry your leather fabric for at least fifteen hours, preferably, near an open window, while hanging it and avoiding sunshine as much as possible.

Next, let’s talk about how to maintain your faux leather corset looking amazing.

For all your leather and faux leather items, I highly recommend Saddle soap. Click here to try it!

In this situation, the only thing I advise you to do is to use a nourishing oil, preferably, baby oil that’s smell and color free, just apply some few drops every six months and wipe very gently , then let it dry for at least six hours before using it again.
