Faux leather cords – be careful!

August 24, 2015 by Jean-Marc Chateigner Leave a Comment

Although the subject of choosing faux leather cords can seem a little easy, and very straightforward, I highly recommend that you always have the advice I’m going to share with you in mind because they are going to avoid you so many hassles, troubles, and save you money as well!

I work with faux leather cords almost every single day, after all, I am a faux leather artisan, I have a shop where I repair, design, and even create faux leather items, and from my experience, if you are a novice, in other words, you don’t know a lot about faux leather, you will make these mistakes when selecting the right faux leather cords for you.

Use this amazing conditioner to prevent cracking and to also maintain your faux leather objects in great condition. Click HERE now!

That’s why you need to be very careful!

The first mistake is related to the color!

I’m sure that when you would like to buy faux leather cords, the first thing you would think about is the color, but here, I would like to talk about a very casual thing where most people are going to make huge mistakes!

It’s shopping on the internet!

When I buy my faux leather cords, it’s always from the internet, and in my first attempts, when I didn’t know about shopping online, I made these huge mistakes:

I bought certain colors, but I got hold of my faux leather cords, I found out something completely different!

To prevent faux leather from peeling and cracking, I highly advice you to use a good conditioner. Click here to try it!

Be careful, when shopping online, most websites are not very careful about delivering the right color for you, and sometimes, you may see on the picture a color, but when you see it in real life, it’s going to be another very different color!

The most common case I even face nowadays is related to white, when I shop for pure white, I want 100% white, I don’t want anything else, not beige or other colors, however, when I receive my deliveries, I often find out that it’s not really pure white, so I return the item and order it again hoping for the right color this time!

How can you prevent this?

In my experience, the best way I’ve found is to shop at a renowned store, like Amazon.com, where I make all my purchases when it comes to faux leather, their delivery is excellent, the prices are amazing and most importantly, they are very serious about business and whenever I have a problem, their return policy is more than satisfying.

The next thing you should be careful about when shopping for faux leather cords is the thickness.

It’s very strange that most people who would like to work with faux leather don’t know about this, the thicker your faux leather cord is, the more difficult it is to work with!

And the thinner it is, the weaker and more fragile the results will be!

And this is very important because the price is going to determine the thickness a lot.

Whenever you find very cheap faux leather cords, stay away from them because you may be dealing with a very thin fabric which is going to break during the first stresses!

Don't forget to use this faux leather conditioner once every 6 months, it will keep your faux leather objects like new: Click here!

Indeed, these are the things to avoid when selecting the right faux leather cords, always keep these advice in mind.
