Faux leather bins – a warning!

December 30, 2014 by Jean-Marc Chateigner Leave a Comment

It’s very strange how many people are going to put so much focus and so much energy when choosing faux leather furniture and clothes, but when it comes to faux leather bins, they just ignore all their instincts and buy the first one they find!

Indeed, even when choosing faux leather bins, you have to always be careful and arm yourself with knowledge in order to avoid some very obvious and damaging mistakes.

To best clean faux leahter upholstery, only use DC22 Upholstery Cleaner. Click here to try it!

The first one is related to the fabric itself.

If you are going to use your faux leather bin for decoration, then, you don’t have to focus a lot on the fabric, you need to focus on the color and decorative motives, but, if you are going to use your faux leather bin for practical purposes, in an office for example, then, you need to pay close attention to the fabric.

It’s because bins are so cheap and so neglected that most manufacturers are going to use low-quality and low-grade faux leather fabrics to make them.

And let me remind you that I am a faux leather artisan, I work with this material all the time, and I know how fragile it get with time, especially if it’s exposed to heat and sunlight all the time!

So, my advice is to always focus on the thickness of the material, look on the sides for faux leather thickness and durability, if you find that you are dealing with a very thin layer of fabric, then, by all means, avoid buying such a product!

The second thing you need to focus on is the price itself.

I’m sure that most people are going to stay below the forty dollars limit; after all, they are dealing with a faux leather bin! Right!?

But the truth is that if you choose and very cheap product, it won’t last you a long time, and soon, you will find yourself throwing it away because it will start peeling prematurely and cracking as well!

In my opinion, you should always focus on quality brands and materials, that’s why you need to have this very important idea in your mind all the time when shopping faux leather bins: price doesn’t matter!

Because if it does, you are certainly going to choose low-quality ones and regret it later on!

Does this mean that there aren’t any affordable faux leather bins?

Absolutely not, there are so many products and brands you can choose from that are very affordable, but the size is limited, so, if you are focusing on buying a large faux leather bin, then you need to pay some extra money for it.

How about maintenance and repair?

Don't forget to use this faux leather conditioner once every 6 months, it will keep your faux leather objects like new: Click here!

Unlike faux leather clothes and furniture pieces, faux leather bins are very easy to maintain, however, if you are using them all the time and putting a humid or pointy objects inside, that may harm the fabric, then I highly recommend that you use saddle soap or a leather honey conditioner at least once every six months, it’s more than enough.
