I’m not going to lie to you, getting a cheap faux leather sofa can be the worst decision you can make when it comes to your home or office, and today, I would like to talk about the reasons why.
I’m not just going to say that the fabric is very thin and fragile and end this post, no, there is another terrible reason you should know about, and this is the main one when I say that you should avoid getting a cheap faux leather sofa.
Did you know that most cheap and low quality faux leather sofas are made in Asia?
I’m sure that you are already aware of this, in fact, even some of the fanciest brands are made there as well, but here, the main difference lies in the manufacturing processes and the fabrics and materials used.
Because you are dealing with faux leather fabric, it needs to be reinforced and also treated with very different chemicals and processes, and this is why a cheap faux leather sofa is a bad bargain!
It’s because some of the chemicals used are very dangerous for the skin, they are the ones that cause smell in cheap faux leather fabrics and items and also the ones that will cause skin rash, irritation, inflammations, and even extreme sensitivity!
In my opinion, getting a cheap faux leather sofa is a terrible mistake and you should avoid it as much as possible because the difference in dollars from a medium one and a affordable quality one can easily be paid in a doctor’s office or when you don’t feel comfortable and at ease in your own home or office!
The second reason why you should stay away from cheap faux leather sofas is due to the comfort level.
Most are going to say that comfort isn’t very important when you don’t pay a lot of money to get it, but I don’t agree with this, a cheap faux leather sofa can cost as little as $200, whereas a medium quality one, an affordable one, can cost between 300 and $400!
And the difference in comfort is huge, it’s because a cheap one is made out of very thin faux leather fabrics, and the filing and springs are very thin as well, in other words, it’s going to feel awkward when you sit on it and use it every day, and needless to tell you that the frame is also very fragile, in other words, it can break at any moment and at any sudden move or extra weight!
I’m not going to lie to you, I’ve already dealt with cheap faux leather sofas in my shop, they are extremely difficult to repair and clean as well, because of the faux leather fabrics which are of very low quality, and that’s why whenever I get one from a customer, I would just say no because I know that they will cause me lots of headaches!
Don’t go with cheap products, they will cost you more on the long run, instead, look carefully for the best ones and why not just wait a month or two until you can afford a much more quality faux leather sofa.
