I would like to share with you in this post a fantastic technique to make boys’ faux leather jackets stain and cracks resistant, and if you are a parent, like me, you should use this technique all the time because, as we all know, boys are very “harsh” on their clothes, they keep wearing them every single day, especially if they like an item a lot, and they don’t pay attention where they go and what they do!
So, this technique is going to make your boy’s faux leather jacket resistant to stains and other problems as well, mainly cracks and peels.
For all your faux leather maintenance, I highly recommend saddle soap. Click here to get it!
It’s quite easy to use, just use these instructions:
The first one is to apply a good leather conditioner every three months.
Even if you have a good boy’s faux leather jacket, you should use this technique all the time, and every three months, get a good faux leather conditioner, I use one called Blue Magic, and it’s amazing.
Then, take a good cleaning cloth and wipe very gently until you get rid of all the dirt particles and dust, then, apply a good amount of faux leather conditioner and wipe very gently again, be careful not to scratch the surface of the fabric.
When you are done, hang it near an open window and let it dry for at least five hours.
The second step you should take is to avoid your kid from wearing his faux leather jacket every single day!
This is the advice I’ve given my kids as well, avoid using their faux leather items, and even real leather ones, every single day! It’s because they will absorb the moisture from the skin and this will increase cracks and deteriorate the faux leather quality very quickly.
Instead, they should use this rule: they should wear a faux leather jacket one day and then leave it to “rest” for two days, this way; they will make the jacket much more resistant, and crack and peel free.
