Unfortunately, most customers who visit my shop are clueless about their black faux leather sofas! They don’t have any idea about how to clean them properly and take good care of, that’s why I’m going to help you in this post, I’m going to share with you some of the best techniques I’ve learned in my profession to not only clean your black faux leather sofa, but to also maintain it in perfect condition.
I am a faux leather artisan, in other words, I’ve been working with faux leather for a very long time and I know how it behaves as a fabric and what its properties are, and today, I will show you how to clean your sofa the right way.
Unfortunately, most are going to use a leather conditioner to clean their faux leather sofas, which is very sad because this product is designed to clean leather sofas, not faux leather ones!
Is there a difference?
Yes, there is a huge difference, first of all, black faux leather sofas are made out of plastic materials and chemicals, whereas really leather sofas are made out of cow hides usually and are very resistant, in fact, much more resistant than faux leather sofas, nevertheless, they are also very difficult to clean because they will stain very easily and even worse, they will absorb the stain deeply if it’s liquid!
However, when it comes to faux leather sofas, they are very easy to clean, and if you apply a leather conditioner, it may damage them and hurt their fabrics!
I don’t want you to do this, that’s why I’m going to refer you to a very simple solution:
Use a cleaner that’s designed for black faux leather, and from my work, I’ve tried many products, this is the one I use: Blue Magic 800 Leather & Vinyl Cleaner.
For all your leather and faux leather items, I highly recommend Saddle soap. Click here to try it!
Use it all the time, you will not regret it because it has the right chemicals and compounds to clean and also maintain your black faux leather sofa in immaculate conditions.
